Crispy's founder and first fractional CFO
I'm Burcu. I spent 15 years in corporate finance at Garanti Bank, Vodafone and Philips across Turkey, UAE, Kenya and the Netherlands. Good roles and good teams. But over time, I found myself drawn to smaller, faster-moving companies led by founders who were genuinely building something.
When I finally went independent, I worked things out as I went. Reinventing myself outside of a corporate structure, creating a value proposition, finding my first client, setting up processes, learning AI tools, invoicing, contracts and more. All while actually doing the work. There was no playbook. It was messy but I figured it out.
Crispy grew out of that experience. I built it so the next person has a better starting point than I did. The tools, the client pipeline, the templates, the peer network — everything I wished had existed when I started. So if you ever considered going the consulting route but felt it was too risky or scary, I hope you'll reach out because we might be able to offer enough structure, support and client pipeline to go for it.
I'll be honest: in some ways this is harder than a 9-5 role (you're fully responsible, you have to help close your own clients and navigate your work yourself) but in other ways it's fantastic (no boss, no HR, no unwanted small talk and more control over your schedule). Intro Call
If your application looks like a strong fit, we'll invite you for a 30-minute call. It's an open conversation — we want to understand how you think, what you've built, and what you're looking for from a Crispy partnership. We'll cover territory, talk through how the model works in practice, and leave plenty of room for your questions.
Case Review
If the intro call goes well, we'll follow up with a second conversation. We'll walk through a real client scenario together, not as a test, but as a way to see how you think through a problem and communicate your recommendations. It's also a chance to go deeper on anything we didn't cover the first time.
Background Check
Before we move forward, we'll carry out a straightforward professional reference and credentials check. It's a standard part of the process and typically takes just a few days.
Sign Engagement
Once the background check is complete, we'll sign a letter of engagement, an NDA, and a non-compete. We'll also get your invoicing cycle set up so everything is in place before you take on your first client.
Operator Onboarding
Welcome to Crispy. Once you're confirmed, we'll get you fully set up — playbook, tools, client workflow, and a warm introduction to the operator network. From here, you're ready to take on your first client and start building your practice under the Crispy brand.
